Jeannette is about the start of a new life and a new identity. It explores the way Jeannette, a girl who was adopted when she was ten years old, relates to her new country and her new family. The photographs taken by Jeanette herself – without following any pre-established guidelines –  raise several issues, such as the therapeutic value of photography and the concept of authorship in relation to the photographic medium.  In Jeannette's hands, the still camera becomes a privileged means of relating to a new world, a tool through which to observe herself and her surroundings. Jeanette’s photographs allow us a glimpse into the identity construction process, which can never be fully unravelled. A story without a beginning or an end. Perhaps because the real story is embedded in her day-to-day life.

Giusy Rizzi approaches to photography for the first time during his training as a graphic designer, where she developed an approach to the medium from a purely commercial point of view, delving into both historical and technical knowledge. From her interest in art and aesthetics, she undertook a university degree in Multimedia Production at the University Ca 'Foscari of Venice where both the cultural and artistic wealth of the city, fostered a strong sensitivity to the visual arts. Passionate about film, theater, music, she participates in the development of projects of short films and music video. Her time at an art gallery and photography studio, convinced her that art is a way to look outside and inside the human being.

Giusy Rizzi graduated from the Masters in Fine Art Photography and Professional Projects at LENS in 2012, where she had the opportunity to participate in workshops with photographers such as Oscar Molina, Gianfranco Tripodo, Sofia Moro, Renato d'Agostín, Marta Dahó, Joel Aguilar, Felix Fuentes and Carlos Spottorno, among others.
